Jason Bentley, Member at Large

Jason Bentley is a Financial Advisor with Chesapeake Wealth Advisors of Janney MontgomeryScott. CWA was ranked #2 Wealth Management Team for Delaware by Forbes Magazine in 2024 with $1.5B of Assets Under Management. Jason presents frequently on topics in the community on retirement and estate planning, tax planning strategies and other wealth management topics.
Previously served as Director of Development at Delaware Tech for 10 years where he helped secured funding for the Automotive Center of Excellence, Ted Freeman Aviation & Powerplant Building and countless other capital projects. Most importantly he funded the cost of education gap for many Delawareans by increasing private scholarship funds to roughly $300,000 annually for students at the Georgetown Campus. Prior to Del Tech, he served as Annual Giving Officer and Major Gifts Officer at WV Wesleyan College.
Jason has a B.A. in public relations From WV Wesleyan, a M.S. in integrated marketing communications from West Virginia University and an Ed.D from Wilmington University. He previously taught business, marketing and management courses at Delaware Tech.
Jason has served as president and board member of the Southern Delaware Estate Planning Council, president and board member of the Lewes Rehoboth Rotary Club, and servers other nonprofit organizations in the area. He has volunteered with The Bridge, The Shepherds Office, Crossover Cups, Appalachian Service Project and served as a Bonner Scholar during his undergraduate years at West Virginia Wesleyan College. Bonner Scholars commit to 280 hours each year of community service and volunteer leadership
Jason attends Discover Church in Georgetown and plays the acoustic, bass and electric guitar in the praise team.
