She came running up to me, tugging on my sleeve to get me to lean over so she could whisper in my ear.  My daughter, Abby, cupped her hand between the side of her little mouth and the side of my head. She giggled and danced a little and quietly told me her secret.

I loved everything about that - every time it happened. That she came to me and leaned in. That she wanted to share something with me that only she and I would know; and, everything within me wanted to reciprocate her proximity and honesty with her.

There is a precious promise in the Bible that perfectly reveals the heart of God toward us. James 4:8 (NLT) tells us, "Come close to God and God will come close to you."  Every time we lean in to our Father, God, He does the same with us. He longs for us to want to be close to Him and tell Him the secrets we hold inside our hearts. When we are that close to God we are in the perfect space to hear Him whisper back. Lean in today and listen. He knows the revelations your heart longs to hear.
