Calvary Church began in 1954 as a small group of ordinary people who gathered in Edna Gooden’s kitchen. They shared a common goal that we still hold today: to know Jesus and share His life-transforming love with Kent County. That love has touched hundreds to thousands as we have reached out to meet the physical, social, mental, and spiritual needs of our community for over 70 years!
What to Expect:
We understand how intimidating it may be to visit a new place for the first time; at Calvary Church, we aim to make you feel at home.
When you arrive on the Calvary Church campus you can expect to see a friendly greeter with a smile at all of our doors. Our welcome team will even help you navigate through the building to find our sanctuary, nursery, kid’s church, and restrooms.
Every welcome team member is equipped to help you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We have a connecting center where you can learn more about Calvary Church, and we have a diligent security team that ensures the safety of our whole campus.
